Here in North America we totally lack good programs on gardening, so it is no wonder I had a request for more links to U.K. garden shows.
Here are links to the first 8 episodes of Gardener's World 2014: Episode 1, Episode 2, Episode 3, Episode 4, Episode 5, Episode 6, Episode 7 and Episode 8
Enjoy!
It's such a beautiful garden tv-program I am watching it every fryday night. Overhere we don't have anything like that while we have so many gardenlovers. I wonder how the brithish are doing this. No commercials during the program. When we have a program like that it would last 40 minutes with 3 commercial brakes. I am so lucky we have bbc on our television. Also on BBC from 20-24 twice a day a program coming from the Chelsea Flowershow. Always great to see.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day Jennifer
sorry should be 20-24th of may.
ReplyDeleteI wish we could watch the BBC player here via the internet, but it is blocked. I always have to try to find the shows on the internet. They must have good funding for such shows in Britain. We have a "Home and Garden" channel here in Canada, but the show are almost all about home renovating and decorating. There is no equivalent to Gardener's World. Thanks for letting me know about the Chelsea Flower Show coverage. I wonder if I will be able to find it on the internet?
DeleteI'm loving Gardener's World and have made it a tradition to watch it Sunday mornings. FIY, it's not on this week!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather. I usually hunt down the latest episode on the internet on Saturday morning. I am going to miss it this weekend.
DeleteGardeners’ World has been my inspiration since I moved to Britain 15 years ago, I have learned so much! I also subscribe to their magazine and learn a lot from that too. There is no advertising on BBC, not in the programs or between, so it’s very nice watching TV on those channels. You just have to remember to stock up on food, drinks and go to the toilet first if you are watching a long program, like a film, as there is no break :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd there is no Gardeners’ World on Friday because there is a snooker competition that apparently takes priority here in Britain – gardening is big here but snooker is bigger!
I love "Gardener's World", and also feel sad that it won't be on this Friday:( oh well, I am sure that Monty will make up for it in the next episode;)
DeleteGardening is big in the U.K. and it is popular here too, but that is not reflected in any gardening shows. We envy you across the pond for having Gardener's World. I will miss watching it on Saturday morning!
DeleteSure looking forward to watching these, Jennifer.
ReplyDeleteThank you!!!!
I fell in love with Monty while watching his shows on TVO. Thank you VERY MUCH Jennifer for posting this. I've already begun to develop serious garden envy ;)
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU!!!! We have nothing!!! There is such a need for this and I would think that in this day and age we would be much more advanced in programs for the garden.....on to watch!!!
ReplyDeleteJennifer girl you are too sweet to post these for us ! thank you !
ReplyDeleteWhen I get some time I will be glued to my screen watching these episodes ... but I think the weather is turning a bit for the good and I better get some vital jobs done ! LOL
Thanks again : )
Joy
We have so many gardening programmes, but this is by far my favourite.
ReplyDeleteThere is a definite need for some good garden shows on this side of the pond. I'd love to see something like the 'Great British Garden Revival". In each episode, two presenters focused on an endangered aspect of British gardening heritage. Monty Don took on front gardens and wildflowers.
ReplyDeleteI have been watching the Garden Revival series too. It's excellent. I wish we had a North American version!
DeleteWhat a shame you don't have many gardening programs....I love Gardeners World, the highlight of my Friday night!xxx
ReplyDeleteIt is a shame! Hunting down the latest episode of Gardener's World on the internet is my Saturday morning ritual.
DeleteI do enjoy Gardeners World and always miss my fix if its replaced with Snooker or Football. You've got to love good old Monty!
ReplyDeletePaul :)
