  7. So many different gardens, so many different benches. I think the stone kissing bench is very special, but I should love to sit under the Wisteria.

  10. Jennifer girl all of these benches are gorgeous but the ones by ponds and arbor style are my favorites .. sitting by water is such a relaxing element to have and having plants that almost touch you is another feature that I love. I guess I need that heightened sense appeal in benches ..
So mine are also within that design.
I love this post ... it makes you think of what really invites you in to sit on a garden bench.

  11. I'll take one of each, Jennifer!! :-)
But, if I had to pick just one, it would be the first one.
    So beautiful.

    Wishing you a wonderful evening!

  12. I'd love to have a bench in the garden but have never found the right spot. But I do have a nice table on the patio with a big umbrella so that suffices. I spend a lot of time at the table in the summer and we eat dinner out side all the time.

  13. I absolutely loved them all, Jennifer: wood, metal and stone. So many are in lovely sections of the gardens. If it would ever stop snowing, I might actually be able to FIND my bench……..! Buried again today - at least 20cm.

  14. Perfect timing, Jennifer, as I want to add a bench to my shade garden this year. I love the look of the class English bench, but I'll probably wind up picking whatever fits my budget. These photos really show how much a bench, carefully placed, can add to the look of a garden.

  16. Love these garden benches. Love the mossy concrete benches (and the shady gardens that go with them). My son begged us for a bench for his pond garden, and it really does make a difference to that area. Wendy x

  17. I have a tree out front with lots of shade, and flowers around. I want to put a bench under that tree. But how do you keep the bench from getting nailed with so much bird poop?? I'm thinking this will be a problem. No one will want to sit there! :(

    1. That is a bit of a dilemma. I do have a bench under a tree, but it only occasionally gets splattered. Then I just give it a quick hose off.

  18. All of them are nice. I have a question. Is it bad to put a memorial bench in your front yard landscape?

    1. I don't think it is in bad taste at all. If it were me, I would consider what the bench look out on. If the person whose memory you are honouring liked butterflies, I'd plant some flowers that attract butterflies around the bench. If the person liked birds, I'd install a birdbath or bird feeder opposite the bench and create a little planting around that feature. Hope these ideas help.
