Peonies, roses and foxgloves are the stars in the garden at the moment.
Rose 'Carefree Beauty', pink peonies and Salvia nemorosa 'Caradonna'

The "hedge" of climbing Explorer series roses 'John Davis' and 'John Cabot'.
Canadian Explorer Series Rose 'John Cabot'
'Reine de Violettes' rose which is very upright and almost thornless.
The deeper pinky-red rose is Hybrid Musk rose 'Marjorie Fair' and the lighter pink
is the Hybrid Musk rose 'Robin Hood'.
These are self-seeded Foxgloves. (Read more about growing Foxgloves here.)
Now is the time to cut back your perennial geraniums. They'll look like hell for a week or so and then you should see nice fresh foliage.
The Lupins are almost finished blooming. I love the seedpods in this soft, furry green stage.

'Chereokee' Clematis which is part of Boulevard series of patio clematis. It only grows 5-6 ft.
Phlomis tuberosa 'Amazone'
These peachy-pink foxgloves I grew from seed. (They are Sutton's Seeds 'Apricot'.)

ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous! I just bought a Cherokee Clematis to grow up the new pergola that I built. Guess I didn't notice the 5' thing... oh well, opportunity presents to buy another clematis! lol

I just bought some apricot ones at our local greenhouse…always hard to wait a whole year for blooms though. Your bouquet of peonies on the blue chair is absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for sharing. ReplyDeleteGorgeous shades of pink and lavender and all around beauty. Great tip on the geraniums, mine were assaulted by some bug or other, all brown now and not lovely. I will shear them back and see what happens. Peony season went very quickly here, we were unseasonably hot for a few days and they bloomed and flopped. Your garden is so beautiful!
