On Sunday, I spent part of the afternoon at the big Interior Design Show in Toronto. The show is primarily dedicated to indoor spaces, but there was the odd booth with a garden theme. Take a quick look:
Outdoor beachy-coastal theme at Andrew Richard Designs.
Wasabi green accessories from Urban Barn.
Owls continue to be a popular decorating motif and below there is a coastal-themed grouping of accessories, again from Urban Barn.
I thought this display booth by Earth Inc. was really interesting.
With old bricks, wire pendent lights, huge metal beams and rusted pipes lashed together to make the enclosed courtyard, it is a modern industrial take on a natural outdoor space.

Jennifer - too bad we don't know what each other looks like because so far we have been on garden tours on the same day…and now IDS! I was there with a girlfriend on Sunday as well! Thought it was a FABULOUS show (unlike the one I attended years ago. They certainly have improved!) I have featured my pix on my food/decorating blog. Take a peek. I saw most of what you have posted but you definitely found some interesting corners that I missed. I like the Earth Inc display. Did you see how upscale the IKEA kitchen was? And Eurodesign had an island/counter that retracted to hide the gas burners when people sat down to eat. Did you have a chance to hear the afternoon speakers? They were all very informative and entertaining. I'm glad you had a good time too.

I'm not much into the modern or industrial look, but I like this. It has a touch of natural and rustic to it, too. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting! I like the weathered table and was thinking of trying to make a small coffee table like that.... We will see! It is always fun to see what designers create!
ReplyDeleteI like the Earth, Inc display. I've been intrigued lately by the industrial chic craze, and jumping on the bandwagon, my husband has been working on a wall fountain out of repurposed copper plumbing parts. We shall see how it turns out...

You asked about the suet feeder .. funny enough we weren't even looking for that when we walked the isles of Canadian Tire .. then I got the idea it would draw more birds in and hanging it near the deck door would give the girls such a thrill watching birds (so far no birds .. the weather is outrageous here .. high winds and thunder storms predicted .. almost all the snow is gone .. next it will go to freezing but not extreme temps .. what can you do ? haha)
So YES ! Canadian Tire and it wasn't very expensive at all .. the box of suet feed was more .. I think $18 for 10 blocks and $12 for the actual feeder .. fingers crossed at some point the birds are going to clue in .. but for now in this weather ? I don't blame them for hiding some where until this weather passes! eeekkk ! LOL

This looks like a fun way to spend a few hours. The super skinny tree bothers me. I'd want to give it some compost and put it in the sun. :o)
