Get Ready for Some Adorable Faces!

If you dog owner lucky enough to live in or near the city of Mississauga your pet can take advantage of a series of "leash-free" dog parks. Each park is a large, fenced area, where dogs are free to roam off-lead.

One of these parks is a short five minute drive from the house.

The park a large open field, as well as a shaded forested retreat.

At this time of year it is a beautiful place to take your dog for a walk. Needless to say, the boys love to hear the those magic words "Let's go to the lease-free park."

It's a brave squirrel that ventures into the wooded area of the park with little guys like this on the job!

Here comes a big, happy fellow!

What beautiful dark eyes you have!

Bloodshot eyes and tongue hanging out! Hard day at the office, do you think?

This is Jasmine.

And this is Jasmine's sidekick Felix.

Hey, cut a guy some slack!

Sometimes, when you're a little girl, you need the comfort of a safe vantage point to
watch all the action.

This is Molly.

And sometimes, even though you are a little guy, you're not shy at all.

Aww!

Oh, oh it's a traffic jam!

Is this dog coming or going?

Do these darn shelties ever shut up and stop barking? (No!)

There are a couple of watering holes where everyone can get a drink. Some of us like our
water served in a dish. Thank you very much!

And some of us like our water fresh from the hose.

Hey, will you look at me! I actually got to the ball first!

Can we come to the dog park again tomorrow?

  1. Wspaniały park i wspaniałe miejsce dla piesków. Mają tam swoje spotkania towarzyskie, pobiegają i pobawią się :-). Z pewnością te różne, śliczne i kochane psy chciałyby się tam codziennie spotykać. Mój piesek z pewnością by do nich dołączył. Pozdrawiam

  2. What a great dogs you have. Two years ago I had a newfoundlander. A big black dog. Everybody was scared of him because he was so big. But he was the last dog on earth who would do anybody any harm. Fantastic walk with you through the park.

  6. What a WONDERFUL post this is, Jennifer! I so enjoyed meeting the boys' many friends at the park and think it's a marvellous facility. My daughter and I were just talking earlier today about trying to lobby our local Town Council to make something similar available here. We really have no where SAFE to walk our six dogs unleashed.

  7. Dog parks are the best - you've managed to capture everyones personality perfectly. My little Bart won't step inside the gate - unlike Agatha my old Saint who lived to go to the park. It was wonderful for meeting neighbours as well - there wasn't a problem we couldn't solve just by walking and talking while the dogs romped and played.

  23. Firstly, love your red leaves shot - the way you've captured the sunlight on them and then with the depth with the other layers of leaves behind them - beautiful and strong capture. Secondly, that was fun looking through all the photos of the dogs delighting in their time at their park - particularly like the last shot and could I borrow Jasmine please.

  25. Oh my gosh! So much cuteness! That's so fun for them at the dog park. We tried it with our jack russell, but she's too feisty. She started a fight as soon as she got there :( I really enjoyed your beautiful photos today. Thanks for linking up!

  27. Well you certainly took some great photos...Jasmine, Molly and Felix won my heart over all but each were perfectly beautiful in their charming personalities captured on your camera. What a great day you must have had...making new friends and just chumming around, the dogs free to just be themselves. It's good for them, to be off leash.

  30. I stop for anything canine and am definately a dog-person. This was a fun series of photos. Though we are lucky enough to live within walking distance of a dog park, it is not nearly as nice the one you go to. I took part in landscaping ours when it first opened, and I learned a valuable lesson about landscaping and dogs. Don't do it the park, outside the fence maybe.

  31. I loved this post, Jennifer! I've never taken Sophie to a dog park--I think there might be one in our whole area. But I've gone with my daughter to one in Scottsdale several times when I've visited her. You can just see the excitement on her mastiff's and pug's faces as we pull into the parking lot--they love it. The last photo is precious--what a sweet family you have!

  32. Too cute! I love the parks - we have a few here in Austin. (a very dog friendly town I might add). Loved the pics!

  33. Hi Jennifer.

Wanted to answer your question, but did not have an e-mail address for you...
I certainly do not like it, but I am not really worried. Not because it does not happen. It does, and I have had it happen to me. The fact is, 72 dpi, watermark, copyright, or not, if your photos are "out there," and someone wants them, there is not a whole lot you can do to prevent it from happening. 72 dpi can be used quite nicely in the right setting, watermarks can be easily removed in Photoshop, and copyrights are relatively meaningless to those who steal others' work. Wish everyone could "play" nicely, but unfortunately that's not the case. :-( I am sorry this is happening to you. If there is an upside to this, it is that they usually move on pretty quickly to someone else.

Thank you so much for your visit.

  34. Cute post!! I have a dog park in my neighborhood but large dogs intimidate my crew and it seems like the dogs there are usually pretty big. Plus, one of my dogs has gone blind so unless the other dog is small and harmless, he avoids other dogs.

  35. Those dogs look like they should be in the movies!!! So many characters...Fun post! Nicole
