For these photographs, I started with Kim Klassen's Warm Sun texture. I color-adjusted Warm Sun into both a blue and grey version of the original. I layered them on the image (soft light) and removed the texture from some of the areas of the picture.

ReplyDeleteI do the same thing! All summer long, I deliver cut flowers to friends and no one ever returns the vases. :( So, I'm always on the prowl for cool bottles and mason jars I can pick up for a song. This texture treatment of the flowers is just amazing. I'd love to learn how to do that.

ReplyDeleteThey are just so beautiful sometimes it is hard to find nice small vases that do not cost a lot so this is a great tip and I will keep it in mind.

Cat, what a sweet thing to say! it is interesting that your blog has a dark background, mine is white, your images are richly dark and mine are light and brightly colored, yet we share a love of light and texture. I hope we are already friends.

ReplyDeleteI love old glass bottles!! I have a small, fat square one that says Paris on it that I'm quite possessive of. They are so much more interesting than all the plastic junk out there. Gorgeous compositions, as usual!! Your posts are always a visual treat!!
