You have some truly beautiful blooms. I understand your dilemma; a book keeping course if it doesn’t run for too long could be useful whatever you decide to do with your future. If it is design rather than horticulture I don’t think you need to be a master gardener, just know where to get the information you need. I’m not saying you need to know nothing but you may already know enough. A good design course would help you understand about ‘space’ and designing for clients and not yourself. I agree about the September feeling of renewal, I think you may be right about the new school year thing. These days an artist must be versatile; practically a jack-of-all-trades. I don't have six years to devote to being a landscape architect however, so landscape designer it will have to be. I would like some formal training and think that that would be required here in Canada if you were to call yourself a landscape designer.Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00116583212813729057noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7116278351699614429.post-29166991339402884622012-08-20T10:11:44.925-07:002012-08-20T10:11:44.925-07:00I don't think you sound like a fortune cookie ...I don't think you sound like a fortune cookie at all. That much was evident from the test they make you write to be considered for the MG program. On the multiple choice test, there were lots of questions I did not know the answers for. For instance, there was a question about different types of grass and I had to guess. And you are not alone. I have been trying to create a niche for myself for a year or two now. It's a very slow process for me. The Master Gardener program here in Michigan is more of a Volunteer program. You volunteer so many hours for local gardening causes. It is a good organization to market yourself--offering classes, workshops, etc. Mary Pelleritohttp://mary-goingnative.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7116278351699614429.post-61867634887901501332012-08-19T14:48:15.145-07:002012-08-19T14:48:15.145-07:00Jennifer girl ! From my knowledge of master gardeners through my nursery, I am not sure I would recommend that for the reasons Donna states. However, it doesn't take six years to be a landscape designer. Are we talking about landscape architect? You can call yourself s landscape designer with no formal training, although I don't recommend that. A series of landscape design courses at a local college plus your already developed sense for plants and gardens should be more than enough.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7116278351699614429.post-6657459839393236302012-08-18T18:39:52.211-07:002012-08-18T18:39:52.211-07:00More beautiful pictures!
