A Fall Intermission

I love taking photographs at this time of year.

The hard edge of summer sun is gone. The light is mellow and golden.

Fall leaves are not only colorful, they are translucent. The subtle underlying structure of veins is literally brought to light.

In this post today are recent shots taken in the garden and around the neighbourhood.

Have a great weekend!

  3. I love your dog, what a photo! Fall is my favorite time of year, too, even though it means the end of the gardening season. It was a treat to see your sunny pictures, nothing lifts my spirits more than the intense colors of autumn.

  4. At last the leaves are beginning to change around here - wish we had your sun to go with them, but the colours do brighten up even a grey day.

Have a great weekend yourself (despite the crummy weather they predict).
Hey! Here's a good non-gardening idea: Pop out to Oakville to see the PML Show Home. I think you'd like it.

  9. It was truly glorious yesterday - perfect day to be out taking pictures. Of course, the day was fleeting and we're in for some bad weather for the next few days. All the leaves seemed to have dropped overnight.

  10. I also love the colors this time of year. They are so much more interesting than the solid colors of summer. It's too bad we can't keep these during the winter!

  12. Stunning photos jennifer. I love the delicacy of autumn as everything becomes fragile and dainty again as it was in spring albeit in fiery hues.
